Yes, I hand make all of my own business cards!

While vending, I put my business cards in these beautiful
hand made glazed ceramic bowls for people to take as they please.
Quite often I get an "Are you crazy?"
As they take a look around and see EVERYTHING is hand made
including most of my displays and even my
business cards.

At least now I have a paper cutter!!
Before that I was using fancy scissors so that you couldnt tell if
the cuts werent perfect... Now THAT was nuts!
And it took FOREVER! I wasnt vending yet though and my sales
werent as high as they are now - so it wasnt too bad!

I cut a bunch of the bottoms all at once and then a bunch of the tops all
at once. When I have about 200 of each, I will continuously sew
in a zig zag stitch one after the other, the tops to the bottoms without
cutting the thread until I have 1 super long bunch of cards sewn
together. I put them in to a pile and cut all of the loops in between.

Since I have been working 12 hour shifts at the shop all week,
we are understaffed.... (If you are local to Mission and wouldnt mind selling
dildos and porn... were hiring! lol....) So since I'm here from
10am - 10pm I take the blank sewn cards with me to work
and write on them there. I have drastically improved my "font"
and am happy with it... I have had many offers of help but nobody can
quite mimic my font and Im a perfectionist!

Here are some finished cards I did yesterday:

I've been lucky, my wonderful sister, Megan did all of the last
batch of cutting :) Thank you Megan!!
She's 8 months pregnant and I'm super excited to become an Aunty!!

The main reason why I do my cards like this is because I figure that
they are just too cute to throw away. People can use it as a bookmark,
stick it on their fridge, anything except for throw it away :)
So much nicer than a plain sterile business card, ALOT of work,
but most people keep them.

  1. Business cards are cards bearing business information about a company or individual. They are shared during formal introductions as a convenience and a memory aid.

    1. The only way I have time is because it is something I do at work. I work alone in a pretty slow shop and I'm there for 12 hours a day, if I couldnt do it there though, there would be no way! People do really love them :)I always keep regular types in case I am unable to do this before an event though :P
